Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has announced a large recruitment drive under the “Malaria Mukt Gujarat Abhiyan-2026” to strengthen public health services in the city. Through this recruitment, VMC will fill 549 contractual posts of Public Health Worker (PHW) and Field Worker (Male) for a period of 11 months.

The online application process has started from 1 January 2026 and eligible candidates can submit their forms till 10 January 2026. Selection will be done purely on the basis of merit, and no written examination will be conducted.

1️⃣ Public Health Worker (PHW)

Educational Qualification

  • 12th Pass with Sanitary Inspector (SI) or MPHW Course from a government-recognized institute
    OR
  • 10th Pass + SI/MPHW Course (for candidates having VMC Health Department experience)

Computer Knowledge

  • CCC Basic Course certificate is mandatory

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 18 Years
  • Maximum: 45 Years
  • Up to 59 Years for candidates with prior VMC Health Department experience

2️⃣ Field Worker (Male)

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum 8th Pass

Skill Requirement

  • Candidate must know cycling and should use own bicycle during duty

Gender

  • Only Male candidates are eligible

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 18 Years
  • Maximum: 45 Years
  • Up to 59 Years for candidates with VMC Health Department experience

Selection Process (Merit-Based) : VMC Recruitment 2026

There will be no written exam. Selection will be prepared on a 150-mark merit system, calculated differently for each post.

🔹 PHW Merit Calculation

  • Educational Qualification: up to 60 Marks
  • SI / MPHW Course: 10 Marks
  • Computer Course: up to 5 Marks
  • Local Resident (Vadodara City): 5 Marks
  • Experience: up to 20 Marks
  • COVID-19 Duty with VMC: 30 Marks

🔹 Field Worker (Male) Merit Calculation

  • Education: up to 50 Marks
  • Experience: up to 40 Marks
  • Local Resident (Vadodara City): 10 Marks
  • Health Sector Experience: up to 20 Marks
  • COVID-19 Duty with VMC: 30 Marks
