Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a premier public sector bank under the ownership of the Government of India, has released its official notification inviting applications for 750 Apprentice positions under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the year 2025–26.

This program is designed for graduates seeking hands-on experience in the banking sector, offering a fixed monthly stipend, exposure to real-world banking operations, and a potential stepping stone toward permanent roles in the future.

State-wise Vacancy Distribution

Some of the key allocations include:

• Tamil Nadu – 200 seats
• Uttar Pradesh – 110 seats
• Maharashtra – 85 seats
• Delhi – 53 seats
• Bihar & West Bengal – 35 seats each
• Remaining seats are spread across all other states and union territories including remote regions such as Ladakh, Lakshadweep, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

(Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD candidates is as per government guidelines.)

Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality – Must be an Indian citizen.

2. Location Restriction – Candidates can apply for only one State/UT, preferably their home state/UT.

3. Educational Qualification –

• Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university (Govt. of India or equivalent).
• For NATS applicants: Degree completion between 01.04.2021 and 01.08.2025, with provisional or final degree available when required.

4. Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025) –

• General/EWS: 20 to 28 years
• OBC (NCL): Upper age relaxation of 3 years
• SC/ST: Upper age relaxation of 5 years
• PwBD: Upper age relaxation of 10 years
• Additional relaxations for widows, divorced women, and certain other categories as per rules.

Application Fee

(Fee is non-refundable and payable online. Only shortlisted candidates will receive the payment link from BFSI SSC.)

Stipend Structure

• Metro branches – ₹15,000/month*
• Urban branches – ₹12,000/month*
• Semi-urban/Rural branches – ₹10,000/month*

(*Figures include any government subsidy. For NATS candidates, subsidy-adjusted amounts will be ₹10,500, ₹7,500, and ₹5,500 respectively.)

No extra allowances or benefits are applicable. Payment will be directly credited to the candidate’s IOB account.

Selection Process

1. Online Test (Objective – 100 marks, 90 minutes) covering:
   • General/Financial Awareness
   • General English
   • Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude
   • Computer/Subject Knowledge
2. Local Language Test – Reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension in the state/UT language.
   (Exempted if candidate has studied the language in Class 10/12.)
3. Document Verification & Personal Interaction – At designated centers, including medical fitness and background checks.
